About Me

Hi, my name is Ugo, I’m a second year PhD student in Quantum Computing. I’m cosupervised by Prof. Giuseppe Di Molfetta (CaNa Team, LIS, Aix-Marseille Université) and Prof. Andrea Simonetto (OC Team, UMA, ENSTA Paris). I’m affiliated to both establishments but you will find me most of the time at the TPR2 building on the Luminy campus in Marseille, located in the middle of the Calanques National Park.

📚 My Research 💻
My main research interests are quantum walks, noisy quantum computation, quantum algorithms and optimization problems. My PhD research aims to understand the limitations and the conditions under which noise can be used to improve quantum computation using quantum-walked based circuits. In the bigger picture we aim to apply those results to help solving hard combinatorial optimization problems on quantum computers.
